I resisted buying into X-Wing - The Miniatures Game for over year. Despite being interested in a dog fighting game and a fan of the classic Star Wars movies, the price always put me off getting started.
Of all things, it was the opening of a new tea shop in town that finally broke me down. I love specialist teas and the relaxed atmosphere of a tea shop with nice food is especially pleasant. This new one stocks board and card games. Some are even open so you can play while you enjoy a cuppa. The shop stocked the X-Wing range an sure enough, eventually I picked some of it up to take a look.
Jump forward a week to today and I've played three games, invested in a handful of extra TIE fighters and I'm looking forward to picking up some of the more unusual Imperial ships.
