New Year Plans, Plots & Preperations

2015 is here, and with it comes all the intentions and enthusiasm to get my various idle hobby projects going again.  I am a terrible procrastinator and far too easily distracted, flitting from one idea to another over and over again.  This means I have half a dozen unfinished campaign ideas and shelves full of unpainted miniatures...

I don't care for New Year resolutions, but I have certainly let many of my projects go ignored for far too long, this blog among them.  I have a few plans to put these in motion again.  Nothing remarkable or ridiculous, since no far-fetched objectives would see completion.

PLAN #1 "Regular Gaming"
This one should be easy enough.  My usual problem is starting a campaign, then being distracted by other games, abandoning the ongoing campaign and tinkering for weeks or months with something else.

The game my current group has enjoyed and had the most success with is Shadowfall, my home brew fantasy campaign.  So I am going to continue this campaign before looking at anything else.  We had a few enjoyable months with Shadowfall as out Friday night game, and I'm looking forward to picking up from where we left off.  I have a few confirmed players already, I just need to check with the others.

PLAN #2 "Army Painting"
I have so many miniatures to paint and I am so very lazy when it comes to painting them.  However, I do swell with geeky hobbyist pride when I put my Iron Warriors army on the field.  The paint scheme may not be very good, but having a completely painted force still feels like a minor accomplishment.

The Iron Warriors are being relegated to a high shelf this year.  I have new armies and teams I want to play and that means I want to paint them ahead of time where possible.  If not, I still want to try and paint miniatures between battles.

The first step is easy enough.  I have some Dreadball teams and my Deadzone strike force very near completion.  So these become my objective for January.  Four weeks to complete them should be ample time.

Yeah, me too, y'lazy bastard!
Finish painting me!
